Chuck Kraft Scholarship
HandsOn Northwest North Carolina values the significant role that service and commitment play in strengthening the nonprofit community. The Chuck Kraft Scholarship was created to acknowledge the first board chair of HandsOn NWNC for his leadership during the establishment of the organization, and for his dedication and service to children and youth throughout his career with nonprofits. In appreciation of his exemplary service, the Chuck Kraft Scholarship will provide full tuition for one staff or board member currently serving a children and/or youth centered nonprofit in Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Stokes, Surry or Yadkin County, to attend one of the following: Nonprofit Essentials Certificate Program, Women’s Emerging Leaders, or Volunteer Engagement Training Series. Eligibility. Applicants must be a current staff or board member of a Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Stokes, Surry or Yadkin County nonprofit that serves children and/or youth and is classified as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) by the IRS. Preference will be given to staff and board members of nonprofits who have a relationship with HandsOn NWNC. Previous recipients of this scholarship cannot reapply.
Scholarship Payment. HandsOn NWNC will enroll the scholarship recipient in the program of their choice from the above list at the next starting date. The recipient will not be responsible for any costs and there will be no exchange of funds between HandsOn NWNC and the scholarship recipient or their organization.
Requirements. The scholarship recipient must attend all classes that are a part of the program selected. HandsOn NWNC will confirm the start and end dates for the program.
Application Review and Notification. This is a competitive scholarship and applications will be reviewed by a peer committee. Emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s commitment to children and/or youth and the potential impact of the program on the applicant and his/her organization. The scholarship recipient will be announced at the annual Forsyth County Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards Breakfast in the spring.

Helping Hands Scholarship
The Helping Hands Scholarship is a partial scholarship to help a nonprofit organization participate in either the Service Enterprise Initiative or Organizational Assessment programs. Further information about each program can be found by clicking on the appropriate link. Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility. Applicants must be classified as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) by the IRS within Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Stokes, Surry, or Yadkin Counties. Preference will be given to organizations that have a relationship with HandsOn NWNC. Previous recipients of this scholarship cannot reapply.
Scholarship Payment. Scholarships cover one-half of the cost of the above-mentioned programs. The scholarship recipient will only be responsible for the remaining balance due.
