Nancy Wagoner has been a dedicated volunteer with Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC since 2009. Upon her retirement from Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Nancy knew she was not meant to stay at home and started her search for volunteer opportunities. It was undoubtedly one of the many blessings Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC received when Nancy decided their volunteer needs filled exactly what she was looking to do. Nancy’s office skills have touched each department within Second Harvest Food Bank, and she has spoiled each and every staff member to the point of eagerly awaiting her arrival to take care of a project. Nancy also is a wonderful mentor to new volunteers, and her gentle nature makes them feel right at home from the start, and instills in them the passion of volunteerism.
Nancy has been recognized by Second Harvest Food Bank at their Annual Volunteer Appreciation dinner with an Outstanding Volunteer Award. She is passionate about the giving of her time and talents to Second Harvest, and she is a fantastic ambassador, helping to spread the issue of hunger in our community.
